You’ll love this light-filled home in the treetops.
When you can’t find a site you love–create one!
Pat Goetz and Lynn Adam wanted to live on “an acre of land in downtown Cincinnati.” Since that didn’t really exist, they found a Dayton hillside and carved out enough room for the home of their dreams. Lynn, an architect, then designed a modern structure that takes full advantage of the vistas.
The most significant feature of the home’s interior is daylight. Lynn cleverly located the windows not only for the views, but also to capture light year-round. There are high windows that illuminate the center hallway, which they call the gallery, and narrow windows that act as light fixtures in the bathrooms. There is even a window above the tub that perfectly frames the crown of a tree.
Using symmetry to reinforce the serenity of the rooms means that the emphasis is on the views and the carefully chosen materials and artwork.
Come along with us for a peek inside this modern masterpiece, tucked into the hills of Dayton, KY.
