Season 3, Episode 2: East Side Surprise in Newport, KY

Tour this lovely 1889 home with a surprise in the backyard.

Zack and Allie Sollisch bought their Newport house in 2011. Since then, their family has grown and they’ve completed several renovations and updates that suit their busy lifestyle.

During these updates, they didn’t change the details they love most about the house, including the dining room fireplace, the newel post (that has an interesting history) and the second floor transom windows.

In the kitchen, they kept the cabinets, using paint to freshen them up, although they had to replace the floors and appliances. The third floor got a top-to-bottom makeover, creating a stylish bedroom suite.
