What’s it like living above your business? Pretty cool, it turns out!
This entrepreneur bought a 150-year-old former hardware store, turned into a stylish event center and moved in upstairs…and he loves it.
It took a lot of hammer and chisel work (3 months’ worth, in fact) to expose the brick on the first floor, but the cool, urban vibe was worth it. Headquarters Historic Event Center is a popular venue for rehearsal dinners, parties and weddings, where folks can dance under the original tin ceilings and twinkling lights and eat at family-style tables covered in white linens.
Upstairs, the apartment is a spacious getaway decorated with interesting local salvage finds. There are three bedrooms (one of them dedicated entirely to clothing), the large living space and a soundproofed bonus room, which is the perfect place to hang out during events downstairs.
This tour will give you a peek into what mixed-use living is all about!
