This 112-year-old building began life as a pawn shop and you can still see the traditional logo on the cement floor by the door. The current owners of the mixed-use building are being very creative with its use. The ground floor is a retail shop called Urban Chick, featuring cool clothing and accessories, as well as Bengals items and quirky home décor. They are also adding a salon to the space.
Tucked behind the anonymous red door next to Urban Chick is a boutique hotel called the Newport Inn. The hallway at the top of the stairs leads to three charming suites, each with its own kitchen area, luxurious private bath and comfy king-size bed. One of the suites has two bedrooms, each with a beautiful old fireplace. The owners recently added two more ground floor rooms that have exposed brick and original tin ceilings, as well as queen beds, kitchenettes and large bathrooms. Guests of the Inn also have access to off-street parking, a laundry area and a lovely screened-in porch and 2nd floor deck on the back side of the building. This Inn is a charming place to stay while exploring everything Newport has to offer!
