323 W. 7th Street

The interior of this reworked late 1800’s house is a refreshing blend of modern, mid-century and industrial farmhouse styles. To create the generously-sized living room, the owner closed off the front door, removed an off-center fireplace and took down one wall. Visitors now enter through the side door, which has created an improved flow throughout … Continue reading 323 W. 7th Street

801 Greer Street

When the realtor/developer owner bought this property, he knew it was the “worst one on the street.” Built in the late 1800’s for mixed use, the ground floor commercial space had been squared off, partially boarded up and turned into a sketchy apartment, and the other units weren’t much better. The transformation that has been … Continue reading 801 Greer Street

808 Willard Street (VIDEO)

This welcoming home shows just how gracious urban living can be. The owner moved from rural Kentucky to get involved with property development in Covington, starting with her own home. The warm, feminine rooms are filled with personal touches, such as paintings of family members, cherished collections and heirloom furniture. When planning her kitchen renovation, … Continue reading 808 Willard Street (VIDEO)

The owners are giving us a peek into this renovation in progress so you can see the structure of the house and hear about the proposed changes. A couple of grumpy gargoyles sit just below the 2nd floor windows to guard this lovely 1910 house. 513 W. 8th Street

This home seems to once have been two separate houses (one of which dates back to the Civil War) that were connected at some point. This gives the current owners extra room and also adds some quirky details, like the three-way staircase on the second floor. The home has thoughtful balance of old and new. … Continue reading 513 W. 8th Street

719 Philadelphia Street

This jewel box of a house is a charming Victorian with strategic updates that make it very livable for today. At some point in its 130 years, it had been split into a two-family, with the exterior door to the second floor apartment entering into what is now a lovely bathroom. The reworked first floor … Continue reading 719 Philadelphia Street

707 Bakewell Street

Although you can’t tell from the way it blends beautifully into the neighborhood, this home was built in 2017. The owner bought two adjacent vacant lots, which gave him enough room for a large, carriage house-style garage and cozy backyard with a stone patio. The house itself is a triumph of space planning, resulting in … Continue reading 707 Bakewell Street
