BELLEVUE & DAYTON 2016

BELLEVUE
Bellevue, Kentucky has that certain something that has visitors flocking to stroll along its Fairfield Avenue Historic District corridor and new families and singles alike settling into its lovely and hospitable neighborhoods.  Some simply call it charm, but this storybook setting has a depth of character – passionate local business owners committed to making their commercial district a success and residents willing to roll up their sleeves to fix up their own historic homes and pitch in to make the city as a whole even more inviting.   As a result of foresight by city leaders over time, the City of Bellevue is living out its motto of “preserving the past and preparing for the future.”

DAYTON
Those who know Dayton, Kentucky have been quietly enjoying the unique combination of stately architecture and natural beauty for years. Set between the constant flow of the Ohio River and the occasional rumble of trains passing at the base of the hill, the city is both within view of downtown Cincinnati and yet a world apart. There is an intense pride here and for good reason, this community knows its history and boasts a number of architectural gems and three homes along Sixth Avenue were featured in the book Architecture in the United States, by Dell Upton for the Oxford History of Art as iconic examples of traditional American architecture.  New luxury condos perched on the hill and million-dollar single family homes overlooking the river are drawing the eastern-most community in Northern Kentucky’s urban river cities more attention these days.  The new developments are attracting attention, investment and new business to the historic elements of the city with creative takes on cuisine and events. This renaissance will allow more people to enjoy Dayton’s laid back charm, and charm is always in style.

BEYOND THE CURB | BELLEVUE & DAYTON most recently took place on April 24, 2016.
