Newport’s riverfront is an entertainment destination that includes attractions like the Newport Aquarium, Newport on the Levee, which has a comedy club, bowling alley, restaurants and shops and BB Riverboats, which dock in Newport. As part of the Riverfront Commons project, spearheaded by Southbank Partners, there are now walkways that run along the top of the levee, from the Taylor Southgate bridge to the Aquarium and from the Purple People Bridge to Riverboat Row. The views from this walkway are fantastic! The western section of this trail has granite markers that detail some of the area’s interesting history. Enjoy the iconic bridges and all the fun things to do on Newport’s riverfront!
