Newport’s riverfront is an entertainment destination that includes attractions like the Newport Aquarium, Newport on the Levee, which has a comedy club, bowling alley, restaurants and shops and BB Riverboats, which dock in Newport. As part of the Riverfront Commons project, spearheaded by Southbank Partners, there are now walkways that run along the top of the levee, from the Taylor Southgate bridge to the Aquarium and from the Purple People Bridge to Riverboat Row. The views from this walkway are fantastic! The western section of this trail has granite markers that detail some of the area’s interesting history. Newport Aquarium and Shining Seas Mural: see penguins dance, pet a sea creature and watch sharks and fish cavort in the aquarium’s 70 exhibits and 14 galleries, including five seamless acrylic tunnels totaling over 200 feet in length.

Newport on the Levee offers tons of entertainment options, including bowling, a comedy club, live music and stunning river and skyline views.

The Purple People Bridge is a pedestrian bridge that takes you from Northern Kentucky to Cincinnati and back, a one-mile round trip.

BB Riverboats sail from Newport Landing on the banks of the beautiful Ohio River and offer lunch, dinner, kids’ and holiday cruises, plus many specialty cruises.
